Who we are:

Selene is a not-for-profit, whole foods cooperative owned by its members. Membership is open to everyone. Decision and policy making happen at two levels with input from the membership. The Board of Directors is responsible for ongoing planning, vision and fundraising. Board members are elected for a two year term and qualified candidates are elected by the membership at the annual membership meeting. The General Manager, hired by the Board of Directors, is responsible for the day to day operations of the Co-op. Monthly board meetings are open to the general membership, and times and places are posted in the store. What we do:

Selene purchases foods that are organically grown and locally produced when possible. We are concerned with selling "whole foods," by which we mean those foods as close to their natural state as possible - foods that have undergone little or no processing. We will not knowingly sell irradiated foods. Our prices are discounted to members and provide considerable savings on most items.
